Obituary

Beloved son Wendell Michael Lewis was born to Maxwell and Shirley R. Lewis on November 24, 1959. Wendell was the second blessing of four to come to Shirley and Maxwell.

Wendell attended catholic school his first 8 years of school where he learned to follow the goodness of God and how a son of God should treat others. Wendell had a heart of gold and would give you his last. Wendell went on to attend Andrew Jackson High School where he graduated in 1978. While attending Andrew Jackson he became one of the best true point guards to play there. After graduating high school Wendell attended Mercer college where he continued his love for the game of basketball.

After college Wendell entered the job force where he used his knowledge, his personality and his upbringing to climb the ladder. The job he really thrived and brought him joy was being a loan officer at the Chemical Bank. As time went on, he started to be plugged by numerous health problem which led him to be disabled. Wendell never married or had any children. Along the way he had numerous loved ones but no one like Helen. Helen, who was his true love but lost her to her fight with cancer.

Wendell lived in the Bronx, New York majority of his life. Where he was known as the OG but to his family they called him Cookie. He would always tell the family you can't call me that up here in New York. In 2023 Wendell decided to make Colorado his forever home. He was really moved by the cleanliness of Colorado and how friendly the people were. He knew he found a new love until the day of March 1, 2025

Wendell is preceded in death by his mother Shirley Lewis and his brother Albert Lewis.

Wendell leaves in his memory to cherish his father Maxwell Lewis, his brother Phillip (Esther) Lewis, his sisters, Brenda (Dale) Robinson, his sister-cousin Karen Tucker, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
