Sheila M. Knostman
January 2nd, 1945 ~ July 16, 2023
Born in the winter of 1945 on January 2nd in Glasgow, Scotland, Sheila was the only child of Anthony "Tony" and Effie Ugalde.
At ten, Sheila was orphaned and came to the United States where she was raised by her Aunt Sheila, and husband, Russell Buck, who had just returned from fighting in World War II. They had two daughters of their own, Della and Margaret. Sheila attended high school in the small town of Big Fork, Montana, on the shores
of Flathead Lake.
Upon finishing high school, Sheila attended Montana State University in Bozeman, where in 1962, she met her future husband, Dave Knostman.
Sheila eventually moved to Seattle, Washington, where she worked at a jewelry store as a secretary, but still, she and Dave remained in contact with one another.
Finally, Dave convinced Sheila to marry him in 1974, and they were married in Kauai, Hawaii. The marriage lasted 48 years until the passing of Sheila. Together they became world travelers due to Dave's occupation.
Dave and Sheila lived in Holland for three years with brief periods in London, and Sfax, Tunisia.
In 1978, they moved to Denver, Colorado, which became their home. Sheila applied for a job as a temporary employee with Denver Temporary Services. She did so well in the interview that they offered her a full-time position working for the agency itself, and for the next 10 years, Sheila handled the payroll for the entire agency.
Sheila and Dave became members of Rolling Hills Country Club. Sheila picked up the game of golf at the age of forty-two and along the way, they made many friends with whom they played both tennis and golf.
Sheila loved reading and learning about Denver's rich history.
It was mid-summer in an unprecedented rainy July in Denver, CO; on the 16th day in the year of our Lord of 2023, Sheila passed away.
We love Sheila and miss Sheila in equal measure.
