Patricia Ann Sands
January 08.1957 ~ June 28, 2023
Patricia Ann Sands was born to Margaret and John Cronin on January 8, 1958, in Manhattan, New York. Being the fourth of seven children, Patty Ann was surrounded by abundant love from her parents and siblings Joan, Marilyn, Dorothy, Jacqueline, Margaret, and John. From an early age, Pat forged an unbreakable bond with her cousin and lifelong best friend, MaryAnn.
Pat's primary education occurred in New York, where there was plenty of fun! Pat continued her education in accounting and moved to Denver, Colorado, in the early 1980s to begin her career in the oil & gas industry.
It was from across a crowded party that Pat and Brian's eyes met, and it was love at first sight. She asked him to light her cigarette, and the spark ignited an eternal flame in their hearts. Pat and Brian were married on June 21, 1986. For 32 years, Pat was a devoted wife, and their marriage was full of unconditional love, laughter, and unity.
Pat and Brian started their own family when they welcomed their son Eric in 1988 and daughter Nicole in 1989. Pat became a stay-at-home mom to dedicate quality time to raising her children. She loved doing fun activities and enriching Eric and Nicole's childhood, from excursions to the zoo, exploring museums, braving amusement park rides, browsing libraries, helping with homework, and everything in between! Always up for an opportunity to explore and behold the beauty of God's creations, Pat enjoyed family road trips to Yellowstone, Estes Park, and Mt. Rushmore and cruising to the Bahamas and Canada. Pat made certain to engrave happy memories for her children.
It didn't matter if it was Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Sunday- you could bet Pat would be in the kitchen cooking up a storm! Pat's meals would stir the soul, entice the senses, fill the bellies, and unite everyone. Preparing meals for family dinners was Pat's happy place, nourishing body, mind, and soul. Taking care of everyone that she loved was Pat's number one priority.
Pat's greatest joy came from being with her grandsons, Hunter, and Roland. She would inspire imagination by creating costumes for make-believe, playing "What Am I?" and telling them to put on their thinking caps and catch bugs to keep as pets. Pat created a journal for Hunter and Roland, full of memories, milestones, songs, and poems dedicated to each of them- a gift of love to treasure for their lifetimes.
In addition to spending time with family and cooking, Pat enjoyed learning new things, reading, crossword puzzles, playing Passwords, listening & dancing to music, watching classic movies & documentaries, and birdwatching in the backyard.
On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, Patricia crossed the threshold into eternity to rekindle the flame with her husband Brian and reunite with her parents, Margaret & John, her sisters Joanie, Macky, Dot & Jac- and many more beloved family and friends she had missed so dearly. Pat's legacy will forever echo in the lives of her sister Mickey, brother John, son Eric, daughter Nicole, and grandsons Hunter & Roland; her memory will be cherished by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
