James Douglas Parrish Jr., 61, of Colombia, MO, passed away on May 17, 2024. Born on April 12, 1963, in Neptune, NJ, James lived a life filled with creativity, dedication, and love for his family and friends.
James attended Montbello High School, graduating in 1981. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Throughout his life, James had a passion for drawing, famously creating the first mascot for the Montbello Warriors. He was a talented artist who found joy in depicting nature and creating intricate weapon designs. James had a playful spirit and had a deep admiration for Bruce Lee. He cherished his time fishing and enjoyed the simplicity and beauty of nature.
James is survived by his children, James Parrish III, Eaves (Tony) McGee, Destiny Hardney, and Tyler Johnson, Nyla J-E Collins, Step-Daughter Stephanie A. Howard, his grandchildren, Jaylen Parrish, Elijah Taylor, Savi Vanderberg, Tayarra McGee, Eaves McGee Jr., Sevae McGee, E'Marrion McGee, Iya'Jade Watts, Kameron Johnson, Royale Jackson, Cordell Fleck, Ashton Fleck, Legacy Adams, Rylee Collins and Royale R.E. Jackson; and his siblings, Sonia Parrish, David Harper, Valerie Parrish, Paula Watts, Scott Booker, and Kimbler Jones.
He was predeceased by his parents, James Douglas Parrish Sr. and Gwendolyn Beasley, and his siblings Wayne Booker and Shawn Jones.
