Edward Clarence Walker
October 30, 1953~February 23, 2022
"Life Is Like A Flower If You Don't Water It, Will, Not Grow."
Eddie sitting at the piano, his children are gathered around him. He sits there as the children look over his shoulder. As his fingers tickled the ivory. His children look in amazement. They are all in awe of the beautiful way their father is playing the piano. Then he places each of his children individually on his lap, starting with Porsha, Darnell, Derick, Dominic, and Darren. Edward showed them how to find middle "C" where there's "A" flat and identify a chord. And then together. They play. A straightforward child's melody.
If a second to the last day of October. In the fall of 1953. It was a crisp fall day. In Tacoma, Washington. Where Albert and Della were expecting their first child. With great anticipation, they were wondering, would it be a son? or a daughter.
Moreover, as Della went into labor, they prayed for a healthy child. The appointed time has arrived. Much to their amazement, joy, and happiness, they are blessed with a baby boy. That they named Edward Clarence Walker warmly, known as "Eddie." The Walker family would be blessed with six more children, Carolyn, Gregory, Arnett, David, Bruce, and Christopher. Their home was filled with an abundance of love and prayer.
The family moved from Washington to Texas. As the Walker family understood the value of the Holy Spirit and emphasis on Jesus Christ. Eddie had a happy spirit and talked about the Lord a lot. He sang in the choir at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
He was always telling jokes and singing. Accept the challenge of being saved. And was later baptized at the Saint John Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX. Furthermore, in Lubbock, Eddie was introduced to the Dallas Cowboys and developed a love of sports. Eddie played tennis, basketball, and football. Eddie was educated at Phyllis Wheatley Elementary and EC Struggs junior High schools in Lubbock, Texas. The family moved to the Mile High City of Denver, Colorado, where he graduated from Manual high school. Understanding the significance of education, Eddie did not want to sit idle. He broadened his education by attending Auraria Campus and Trinidad State Junior College. Eddie received a degree in Engineering Draftsman.
As a young man, the love bug bit Eddie he soon met the mother of his children. Miss. Belinda Daniel. To their union. Five children were born. He saw his children as beautiful flowers. "Life Is Like a Flower If You Don't Water It, Will, Not Grow." Recognizing as a man a father his responsibility to care for his children. Mentally, Emotionally, Physically, Spiritually, and Materially.
Edward was employed at the AAMCO Oil, Berco, and Burtz Chevrolet. Using his skills and trades. To provide for his household.
Eddie had a happy spirit and talked about the Lord a lot; he loved to joke and sing planting gardens and flowerbeds. Yet, his greatest love of all was spending time with his children. Rather, in the backyard on the swing set up in the mountains, riding the paddle boats. Just going for rides around the neighborhood. If Eddie was with his family and his children. He was in his happy place.
Eddie had a high spirit regardless of the challenges life threw his way. Eddie was fond of saying His sayings…
"Just blessed to be here," "Run it down and let live!" "You the boss with the chili sauce!" "Back to the whole or back to the nappy dugout!" "I'm Eddie spaghetti with the meatballs and chili sauce!" "Teamwork makes the dream work!" "Didn't I blow your mind this time-football" "Proof is in the pudding," "Nothing beats a failure, but a try," and the two Eddie meant from his heart are "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing!" and "God Bless You!"
The best way to describe Eddie would be the words from his favorite song. Eddie would share with his family. "I could build you a palace of pearls, a tower of diamond rings. I could pave you a street with gold, but these are meaningless things, All the gifts in the world can't convey, what my heart has to say What I'll give to you every day All of my love, all my love… Eddie's LOVE.
It was a frigid winter day. On Wednesday, February 23, 2022. With the high temperature. Of minus zero. And yet. Eddy crossed at Crystal River. Where he found warmth. Beyond measure. And the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And there to meet him. Were other family members and loved ones.
We can never love someone as much as we will miss them. Eddie's life will echo throughout eternity in the lives of his children Porsha Daniel, Darnell Daniel, Derick Daniel, Dominic Daniel, and Darren Daniel. Their Mother, Belinda Daniel
