Mr. Bennie Thompkins Jr. transitioned peacefully at home, Denver, Colorado, Tuesday, May 14,2024. Bennie was born January 3, 1957 in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Liz Thompkins-Williams and late Bennie Thompkins Sr. Bennie attended schools in Brooklyn, New York and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, while he lived with his Aunt Rose and her children. After his stay in Philadelphia, his feet could not keep him still and his passion for life, exploring and traveling lead him to Colorado in 1974, then back to Augusta, Georgia in 1975 and back to Colorado in 1976. Bennie was nicknamed the "Rolling Stone", always on the go. After living in Las Vegas, he returned and made Colorado his forever home.
Bennie soon found love when he met Beverly and they welcomed Benita, Brian, and Bennie Thompkins III. While being an amazing father, he was also an amazing step-father to Ivery, Amy and Latasha.
Bennie worked as a warehouse worker, plumber with cousin, Varnell Jenkins and as a security guard. He made it a point to get every job done. Bennie was a big Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved his Red and Gold. He also enjoyed playing Racket Ball.
