Obituary

The World seems a little less funny since God called Vincent home on July 8, 2025.

Mr. Vincent C Robinson Sr. was born on January 23,1950 in Des Moines, IA to Deloris Ann Brooks. Vincents's mother was a jazz soloist in the Preston Love Band and that is where she met Vincent's father Kim Robinson, a saxophone player

When Vincent was about a year-old Kim and Deloris decided to move to Denver, Colorado. Around the age of 8 years old Vincent's parents decided to start traveling. Being they had no family in Denver. Vincent's parents leaned on their neighbors, Mr. & Mrs. Edward Bush and their 5 children. Ernest, Jimmy "The Fox", Frank, Gloria and Nancy. They became Vincent's second family.

Vincent attended several different Denver Public Schools in the area. One in particular stood out to him: Harrington Elementary. It would be where he met 3 of his lifelong friends. He then met Glenn Younger on the basketball court, then came Lorenzo "Zo" Washington, and Sherman Anderson(deceased). Vincent was the new kid and was littlest among the group. So, Lorenzo and Sherman decided it was a good idea to pick on him. They were wrong, Vincent was one tough cookie. They all went from being friends to calling themselves brothers. Vincent went on to attend Manual High School. Where he ran track, wrestled and played football.

In 1965 Vincent crossed paths with the future Mrs. Robinson, Ruderial Davis. On September 20,1969 Vincent and Ruderial were married. To this union 2 children were born. Vincent Robinson Jr., and Almetra Y. Robinson.

After Vincent finished up his freshman year of college at CU Boulder he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was a part of the 1st Aviation Brigade. One retired from the military he went on to work at the Denver Mint for 32 years.

While navigating through life Vincent decided to revisit theatre. He became part of the Denver Black Arts Company (DBAC) run by John Callum. After 10 plays at DBAC he then went on to perform at several different Theatre companies. Eulipions, Shadow (Jeffery Nickelson), Bonfils(Buddy Butter), and The Source. We can't forget to mention Vincent's memorable performances, where he plays Griot the storyteller, Preacher and Santa Claus in Cleo Parker Robinson's production Granny Dances to a Holiday Drum.

Vincent loved to travel. He loved to go and visit family. He would travel to Seattle to visit his cousins Jerry and Dallas and the rest of the family. Oftentimes hopped on a flight to San Antonio to visit his little brother Kenny. The flights to Vegas to see his sister Toni. Then he slid down to Detroit to visit his sister Porsche.

In the last 5 years Vincent battled sickness, numerous hospital stays. He continued to fight until he couldn't fight anymore. Vincent lived his life to the fullest, without any regrets. He was loved by many, and he will truly be missed.
