Obituary

"Think about it, Actions talks louder, so don't speak about it."

This is the real way Tyriq Xavier Smith lived his life, a man of actions.

Lovingly, known as "Ty, Riq, or Smokey," he would illuminate an area with just his arrival.

Riq would bring calmness to the room or even a situation.

This was quite evident in the summer of 1998, on Wednesday, the 24th, as Ty was announced in Denver, Colorado, and placed an everlasting smile on the faces of his parents, Mr. Duane X. Smith and Ms. Shelley R. Simpson.  Riq was the youngest of the children of both Duane and Shelley. Duane fathered two older sons in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Duane, Jr., and Dennae Smith. Shelley had an older daughter Jasmine.

Being the youngest of his parents' children, he received special Love and affection from his favorite sister Jasmine. They grew up together, played, laughed, and created a bond that time cant expunges, understandably, Jasmine was Ty's beloved sibling.

As a child, Riq developed an entrepreneurial personality. He learned early in life how to survived and made money. Tyriq would try sealing his mother's Avon samples to folks in the neighborhood, or anyone that might stop by their home to visit. This aptitude wasn't wasted as he matured with a passion for music and fashion. Ty stared at a clothing line, "Big Plays Only" (BPO), which happens to be his music producing label. Many people leave legacies, such as their children. BPO was Ty's child, and his legacy will continue to blossom under to watchful eye of his crew Jamir, Brett, Taylor, and Bruce Kevin.

Realizing as a real man, he would have to have a back-up plan. Upon graduating from Overland High School in Aurora, Colorado, Ty enrolled in Dental assistance and Pima school finishing in 2018.

As Tyriq had no children of his own, he was a devoted and adoring uncle to his seven nephews and nieces. Jay' Ron, RayJavn, Aaliyah Shainah, Casey, Carson, and Charlie.  Tyriq had many examples of how to be a doting uncle from his identifiable seven uncles and aunties, Marcel, Terry, and auntie Monige. She proceeds him in death from his maternal side of the family. As well as, Larry, Kevin, Sean, and auntie Dezlema from his paternal side.

As for mentioned, Tyriq loves doing music writing, recording, and producing songs and videos.  You can see them on YouTube at "Bpo Riq-One Hunnid" you can also see his podcast on YouTube.

Tyriq's was avid about the color red. Red is associated with energy, strength, power, determination, passion, desire, and Love.  No better way to describe Tyriq. Ty's favorite flower was Cannabis; hence, he received the fond name of "Smokey."

Smokey showed his Love, loyalty, and compassion to everyone.  Tyriq was polite and a sweet soul, making sure that everybody arrived home safely, checking on family and friends to assure they were alright. In fact, Tyriq was the best "Little Big Brother." It could be said that Tyriq didn't have friends due to how he treated everyone like family.

Riq loved clowning around. He may depart from an automobile and sing and dance in the rain using his laughable nature to amuse all in viewing distance.

Tyriq Xavier Smith leaves us with his profound lyrics that best define the way he lived. These words that we can all inspire to secure: "Think about it, Actions talk Louder so don't speak about it. Stick to the OG code move in slice; the same people you ride with could be plotting."

On Sunday, August 02, 2020, Tyriq Xavier (Ty, Riq, and Smokey) Smith succumbed from this life, Ty would have us to focus on not was lost but what remains.
