Steven Barr
April 4, 1969 – Forever in Our Hearts
Steven Barr was born on April 4th, 1969, in Los Angeles to Donna Patterson and William Barr. From an early age, Steven carried a spirit that was both strong and compassionate, a man who could make a room laugh while also making the people around him feel loved, welcomed, and understood.
At the age of 18, Steven proudly entered the United States Air Force, where he honorably served his country during Operation Desert Storm. His service reflected the courage, loyalty, and heart that would define the rest of his life.
Steven went on to become a devoted father to his children, Alicia “Gracie” Rubio and Steven Barr. He was a loving brother to Sherry and Wendy Barr, and nothing brought him more joy than becoming “Papa Steve” to his granddaughter, Shia Olivia Littlejohn, who held an incredibly special place in his heart.
To know Steven was to know laughter, love, and togetherness. He loved spending time with family above all else. Whether he was cooking for everyone on Broncos Sundays, watching UFC fights, heading to a Nuggets game with his children and granddaughter, or simply sitting around telling jokes and stories, Steven found happiness in the moments shared with the people he loved most.
He was a die-hard Colorado sports fan, a talented pool player, and someone who could still surprise people on the basketball court. Around his neighborhood, many knew him simply as “Pops” a nickname that perfectly matched the warmth and comfort he brought to those around him. Steven was deeply loved by his lifelong friends Matt, Greg, Pete, and Will, friendships that stood the test of time and reflected the loyalty and love he gave so freely throughout his life.
But beyond the hobbies and passions, Steven will be remembered most for the way he made people feel. He was dorky, funny, soft-hearted, silly, and endlessly loving. He had a gift for making people laugh, even during difficult moments, and he carried a kindness that made others feel safe around him.
Steven believed life was meant to be lived with love, humor, and loyalty to family. He understood something many people spend their whole lives trying to learn, that the most important things in life are not possessions or accomplishments, but the memories we create and the people we hold close along the way.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, his love, laughter, and spirit will live on through his family, his friends, and every life he touched.
Forever in our hearts.
