Richard Lee Strange was born December 13,1950 to the late Vera Jokinen and Ira Strange in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He grew up surrounded with love and peace with his siblings Douglas, Donald and Brenda.

Richard received his G.E.D at the age of 17.  Later, joining the Army, where he was a N.R.A member. He picked up a trade in Mechanics from D.A.D.C Mechanical School now known as Lincoln Tech. Starting his career in mechanics, he was blessed with a job with RTD as a mechanic. He was a member of Amalgamated Transit Union. Retiring in 2015.

Richard was the loving husband to Marlan L. Strange. To their union two beautiful children were born. Robert and Lezavetta. His grandchildren Sapphire, Aizlynn Strange, Destany, Jasmine and great-granddaughter Haezel were his light. He loved them unconditionally.

September 2, 2025 Richard departed this life. He is preceded in death by his parents Vera F. Jokinen and Ira L. Strange, his wife Marlan L Strange, his brother Donald Strange and his sister Brenda Strange.

Leaving those to cherish his memory are his children Robert Strange and Lezavetta Shorts, his grandchildren Sapphire Pasco, Aizlynn Strange, Destany Shorts and Jasmine Shorts, his great-granddaughter Haezel Shorts, his brother Douglas Strange and a host of many more family members and friends.
