Ray Don Younger II

April 29, 1966 – January 25, 2023

Ray Don Younger II was born in Denver, Colorado on April 29, 1966, to Ronald and Brenda Younger. He was a healthy young baby and the pride and joy of his grandfather Ray Don Younger, whom Ray was named after.

Two months after his first birthday, Ray met his baby sister Casandra. As the two siblings grew up together their love and protection of one another was unparalleled. The two of them would never let anyone destroy their brother and sister bond.

The bond between these two was so magnetic, his Aunty Linda remembers of the time he took his dad's keys and was going to take Casandra joy riding. Little Ray grabbed the keys to the Toyota, made sure his sister was sitting shot gun and started to drive down Race Street. Luckily enough before Ray and Casandra's escapade began, he was seen right as he was ready to getaway. Just imagine being there, you could just hear his mom excitingly yelling at Ray, "oh my gosh Ray, where were you going—Downtown?"

The action does not conclude with this brother and sister duo. When Ray Ray was attacked by another kid in grade school, Casandra was quick-and-in-a-hurry to rescue her brother. Ray Ray, sitting on the edge of his seat in his lazy boy recliner, recalled the story, "Gritz, Gritz, punch him in the nose. Punch him in the nose." With Casandra doing just that, Ray Ray was able to break away from the kids hold. And his little sister was there to save the day.

Ray was a family man. The Younger & Gadison Family values were deeply instilled into his fibers. No matter what was going on or who needed help whether it be his Grandparents, Parents, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and nieces, they always knew they could depend on him. After his niece Tremel was born, she might as well belong to Ray because she melted his heart and was his sidekick.

Grisell and Ray were joined in marriage, and from this union they were blessed with two sons, Malik and Jamil. As a father and uncle, Ray's sense for family was on Superman level. There is nothing more he wanted for his two sons and his niece then to help them become strong individuals and assure they knew how much he loved and adore them.

Family gatherings became Ray's mission. You knew no matter if it was meeting him for pool, basketball, cookouts at his house, or Superbowl parties – you were guaranteed to have a good time.

Ray, not only learned from his mother and father the importance of family, but Ronald and Brenda passed on to him their strong work ethic. Ray worked hard in school and graduated from East High School. He furthered his education by receiving an associate degree in real estate from the University of Phoenix.

Through his working years he was able to work at Stapleton Airport with Sky chef. The Regional Transportation District was able to be blessed with the talented Ray. He was able to join his Father in Government, as they both worked for the City and County of Denver. He later returned to the airport to work for Frontier airlines. While working, Ray decided to start his own tax preparation business.  After retiring from Frontier, if anyone knows Ray, he would not sit still too long and started self-employment by helping families find their dream homes as a real estate agent.

On, Wednesday, January 25 th , his Heavenly Father decided Ray's work of being a great son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend was complete. God saw that his son was tired and called him to rest.

Ray leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Ronald Younger; his mother, Brenda Younger; his sons, Malik and Jamil Younger; his sister, Casandra Younger; his Great Aunts, Ernestine and Essie; Clyde (Mary) Younger (uncle); Glenn Younger (uncle); Gwendolyn (Larry) Williams (aunt); Priscilla (Julius) McConnell (aunt); Linda Younger-Qualls (aunt); Renee Gadison (aunt); Diana Gadison (aunt); his niece, Tremel Younger; his nephew, Givanni; his great niece, Gianni Brown; many cousins and friends, and his best friends, John Conner, who was like a brother to Ray, and Tim Wilson.

Ray was preceded in death: his twin children, Ray and Brittany Younger; his Grandparents, Ray & Clydie Mae Younger; David & Hester Gadison; his uncles, David and Kenneth Gadison; his Aunt Sonja Mack.
