Nick Ducharme Davis Greer
February 03, 1969 ~ May 05, 2022
The Grill Master
The grill is smoking; You can smell the aroma blocks away. Music is blasting. Family in Friends are gathered around having fun talking, laughing, and telling jokes. While Nick is serving as the grill master, he has his meat marinated. St. Louis Ribs, chicken, hot dog hamburgers, and everything in proper order is ready to go on the grill, ready to be cooked.
Nick also loved making his favorite dishes, Lasagna, Chicken Alfredo, Parmesan Chicken, and Beef in Broccoli. Everyone gathers around, and grace is said over the food. You can hear the finger-licking lip-smacking coming from people's mouths because Nick has done it again; he's put his special touch onto his barbecue. Nick would say, "I'll Make it Do What It Do, Daddy."
Born in the winter of 1969 in the capital of Massachusetts, The Commonwealth of Boston. It was an exciting time for Walter R. Greer and his wife, Tanya L. Greer, as they were expecting their first child. The question being asked is, will it be a boy or a girl? Their only prayer was for a healthy baby. Finally, on Monday, February 3rd, 1969, a Babyboy was delivered to Walter and Tanya. Their hearts were swollen with pride as they couldn't help but look into the eyes of their beautiful son and name him Nick Ducharme Davis Greer. A month later, they could get on an airplane and return home to Denver, Colorado. One more child would be added to the family, Nathan Henry Greer. After Walter and Tanya's divorce, 12 years later, Andrew E. Davis was born. Growing up, Nick was a very precious young man. He was always in trouble, not because he was a bad child but because he always stuck up for others. It was in Denver where Nick was educated. Nick attended Columbine Elementary and went to Gove Junior High, and he graduated from East High school, all part of the Denver public school system. While in school, Nick ran track, wrestled, played basketball and football, and excelled in each. Nick expanded his education by attending Metro Community College of Denver and later enlisting to serve his country in the US Navy.
As Nick reached adulthood, he fathered a beautiful baby girl Jazmyn N. Greer, and yet, on the wings of an Angel, the beautiful baby girl went to heaven as an infant. Nick later met the love of his life, the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. On November 15th, 1994, Nick met Dolores ("Dee"). For twenty-eight (28) years, they were inseparable, and when he got ready to propose to Ms. "D," he did so by serenading her with a song by KC and Jojo, "Can I Talk To You." Ms. "D," said yes. They made a happy life together, building a family. Nick became a father to Ms. Dee's daughter Casander L. Williams. Nick worked as a manager and general manager at different fast-food franchises to support his family. Later in life, he worked for an up-and-coming company called Amazon.
Nick was a man of faith, receiving God and his Son Jesus, who is the Christ, as his personal Lord and savior. Joining Friendship Baptist Church of Christ Jesus. Nick was baptized by Pastor Paul Burleson in 1994; he's been a member of that fellowship ever since. Nick enjoyed singing karaoke, playing card games, Spades, and Rummy. He especially liked playing Dominoes calling himself the King of Dominoes. Furthermore, Nick found enjoyment in bowling, watching war movies, and dancing. Nick loved playing his play station online with friends. Towards the end of his life, Nick became acquainted with a son he didn't know he had, a new ray of sunshine by the name of Orfridio Ortiz. His wife (Sade Ortiz).
Nick sang his last song, grilled his last meat, and danced his last dance on May 5th, 2022. And the only question that remains is, "How Do I Say Goodbye." We don't! We say so long we'll see you soon. Waiting for Nick as he walked through those Pearly Gates was his Baby girl Jazmyn N. Greer, his Father Walter R. Greer, Brother Andrew E. Davis, his Grandfather's Walter C. Greer Sr, and Robert L. Davis Sr. Grandmother Helen A. Davis, and Uncle Kevin. W. Davis, stepsister Lawanda Ward.
The shining light that Nick broadcast will forever shine in the lives of those Nick loved and those who loved Nick.
