Obituary

Morris is working in the kitchen doing what he does best and enjoying what he does. Preparing a meal for his family, nothing particular, just something that he's throwing together. He has the talent to craft a meal from nothing that still fills the belly and brings joy to the face of all he loves. In the background, Morris has his favorite group, Earth Wind and Fire, playing and the lyrics are reverbing throughout the house.  From the song "That's The Way of The World." "Hearts of fire creates love desire; Take you high and higher to the world you belong, Hearts of fire creates love desire; High and higher to your place on the throne. We've come together on this special day, to sing our message loud and clear, Looking back, we've touched on sorrowful days (Wow) Future pass, they disappear."

Affectionately called " Fatman or Moe ," the second child born to Morris H. Hill Sr., and Shirley J. Williams. It is a typical day temperature-wise. Saturday the first day of June 1963, Shirley was in labor, and Shirley went to Saint Joseph's hospital in Denver, CO, where a shining star was born. They named this child Morris Hubert Hill Jr. Morris did not have the opportunity to be raised by his own biological father he was raised in Metro Denver by his mother and Theoplis Christmon (Skip) who treated him as his own son; "Fatman" affectionately called him "Pops and they had a special bond. Morris graduated from Pomona high school in Arvada, Colorado. In their home was a profusion of love and this love just grew greater and stouter.

Fatman always worked. He enlisted in the US army did his basic training at Fort Hood, TX.

While in the military, he was meticulous in keeping his home clean, made his bed, and kept himself fit and clean. By the time Morris had completed his tour, he was a Corporal and a Supply Specialist. He was awarded Army good conduct medal, overseas service ribbon/marksman badge (Rifle). Morris Hubert Hill Jr. served his country with honor.

Moreover, Morris' true passion was cooking. He started his career as a grill-master and Culinary Professional for Red Lobster. Morris continued his culinary career throughout his lifetime.

Morris was a quick study. Watching Pops, he learned how a man should care for his family and raise his children. A lesson well learned. Morris was married twice, first to Beverly Hill. Though this union did not produce any biological children for Morris and Beverly, he was a father figure to her children. As life would have it, not all things are meant to be as this union was resolved. Beverly's children still looked upon Morris as their father. The world turns, and love will strike again when we least expect Morris meets and marries Tammy. Together they produced Charee Nichole Hill, and Morris became the father of Tammy's children.

Morris was an avid Bronco fan, and he loved the game of chess. He loved to make fun of himself and pick on his siblings. Moe never pursued another call on his life, one of a comedian! For he always had folks laughing and in stitches. He knew Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and savior. Being raised at Progressive Church of God in Christ, Morris knew who his holy Redeemer was.

Morris has left such powerful memories, too many to list yet you would find that he was renowned for keeping his home and cars meticulously clean and rearranging the furniture frequently. Morris taught his children to mind their manners, to make their bed military style, and Moe would comb his daughter's hair. He was no ordinary chef. He could make a meal out of any ingredients in the cupboard, and it tasted good! Morris loved to tease his siblings.

Furthermore, he was the life of the party at his grandmother's 90th birthday bash. Fatman took out his dentures for the pictures instead of putting them in. Putting on his grandma's wig, telling jokes, he had the entire family bellyaching laughing.

Morris prepared an elegant dinner for his mom and guests. The service was five star, entertaining and served with love.

LaDonna; "When we were growing up, on Saturday morning's before we did anything the entire house had to be cleaned. That is where Morris learned how to clean and take care of his home. One thing I remember about "Fatman" is that he always was up to no good and the first thing out of his mouth was "don't tell mama."

Trudy; He put his arm next to mine to see who had the darkest skin.

Sharee; I love my brother. I did get my rings back after he had taken them; he was a good brother.

Cousin Lecrae, "My big cousin, was like an uncle to me. I'll never forget being a little kid and seeing him stand up for me to somebody who did me dirty.

Mom: "His nickname was Fatman because he was so fat that he couldn't walk when he was a baby. The doctor told me to stop feeding him so much!"

Sunday, November 28, 2021, Moe's beloved Broncos surprised everyone as they whipped the LA Chargers.

And yet, it's the same time that he crossed that majestic Crystal River transitioning from his earthly suit to a celestial suit in glory.

You can never love someone as much as you will miss them. Morris Hubert Hill Jr's life will echo through eternity. And the lives of those who he loved and who loved him.

Half Of My Heart Is Gone

Son, I wish I could wake up and see you standing there.
Then I would know that it was just a nightmare.

Son, I remember when you were small and how you would hold my hand,
and as you grew older you became my best friend.

Son, I have 58 years of memories that I will treasure and keep safe in my heart.
We share a bond that time and distance can never break apart.

Son, oh how my heart aches so.
I would love to have you back and never let you go.

Son, where there was happiness,
now there is sadness.

Son, how I long to hear your voice and see your beautiful smile
and have you back for just a little while.

Son, until that day I see you again,
I will look to the sky and search among the stars for my son and best friend.

Love,
Mom
