Obituary

Michael Lynn Hatch was born on December 21, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, to Dorothy and Edward Hatch. He was the second of five children.

Michael's father, Edward, served in the U.S. Army, and his military career moved the family from Texas to Gary, Indiana, before they eventually settled in Denver, Colorado, in 1962. After their relocation to Denver, Michael attended Smiley Junior High School and graduated from Manual High School in 1972. In 1977, he married Donna Gill, and the couple made their home in Denver's Montbello neighborhood. They knew it was love after they attended an Isaac Hayes concert as their first date. Together, they raised three sons: Torrese, Eric, and Michael, all of Denver.

For many years, Michael worked in the Maintenance Department at St. Joseph Hospital, where he was a valued and hardworking employee. He and his family were faithful members of Heritage Christian Center, where they found strength and fellowship. Michael also deeply loved spending time with his grandchildren and treasured every moment of family gatherings and backyard barbecues. His favorite color was green, a simple joy that reflected his steady spirit.

Michael passed away unexpectedly at home on May 22, 2025. He will be remembered with love, missed beyond measure, and honored always for the life he lived and the love he shared.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Eric (Becky), Torrese (Kisa), and Michael; Siblings, Zachary, Angela, and Vincent Hatch; Grandchildren, Darius, Malachi, Omari, Ezekiel, Zhanique, Xavion, Deculeon, Erion, Treleon, Ahjamond, Shahila, and Delysha; Niece, Destiny; Great-grandchildren, Ne'Lani, Nova, Noa', Ahmaya, Treleon, Jr., and Journey Marie, and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Edward, his mother Dorothy, his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Flora, his brother Anthony, and his grandson, Torrese Jr.
