Johnnie Mae Tunstle was born July 6, 1925, in Winona, Tx, to the late John Britton and OD Williams. She grew up   with four siblings James, George, Helen and Martha. Johnnie earned her early childhood education through the Smith County School District. In Johnnie's early adult years, she had the desire to help people. She nannied for the Gart brothers where she later retired.

Working hard, she soon found love when she met and married J.C Tunstle. To this union they raised their son Lessie. Johnnie was the true definition of fashion delight. She was always dressed very nicely. From her flashy hats to her fantasy shoes. Johnnie had a passion for nursing and helping everyone. She nannies for the Gart brother's where she later retired. Not able to hold her feet, Johnnie came out of retirement and started volunteering for a home health agency which became her forever career.

Johnnie Mae was a proud and faithful member of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Where she sang in the choir, was a part of the mother's board and held the eldest member seat at her church. Her Hobbies consist of fishing, camping, cooking and most of all bowling. She was a die-hard member of the 300-bowling club.

Johnnie Mae is preceded in death by her parents, John Britton & OD Williams, Her siblings, James Britton, Helen Fuller, and Martha Strange.

Johnnie Mae Tunstle departed this life at the sweet age of 99 leaving those to cherish her memory her son, Lessie Steve (McFarland) Britton, her brother, George Britton, her grandchildren, Derrick Britton, Lessie Steve Britton II, Paul Anthony, Vickie Britton, 7 Great- grandkids, 8 great-great grandkids and a host of special family and friends.
