Mclain
August 19, 1947 – August 13, 2023
Mr. John C. McLain (Boy Boy)
August 19, 1947 ~ August 12, 2023
On August 19, 1947, John C. McLain (Boy Boy) was born to loving parents John Thomas and Hortie Mae McLain. He hastwo siblings, an older sister, Barbara Peeples and a younger brother named Gerald Thomas McLain (Buck). John received his formal education in the Milwaukee Public School System, graduating from North Division High School in 1965. He was the father of two beautiful daughters, Charlotte Bryant and Shellie Renee.
John was a man of great stature. He was well respected amongst his peers and took great pride in his appearance and also in his vehicles. John was united in holy matrimony to Linda Marie Beauchamp in 1976. He retired as an entrepreneur owning a contracting business in carpentry. He also worked as a machine operator for both Schlitz and Miller Breweries.
In his leisure time, John would passionately share stories of how while in high school, he had won first-place trophies for speed swimming. He attended air shows and dreamed of becoming a jet pilot; he loved to listen to jazz music and as a musician he played percussion and was a member of the Kings of Conga with his cousins. John was a sports fan of most sports, including every Wisconsin sports team and he was very well versed in current affairs. John accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and returned to the fold in his later years. He faithfully viewed the live stream services of Pastor Gino Jennings and Bishop Sedgwick Daniels.
Even while battling severe medical issues, John McLain courageously moved to Denver, Colorado, in the late Spring of 2022. And in peace, he departed while at his home on Saturday, August 12, 2023. His family members who celebrate his life and cherish his memories are his daughters, Charlotte Bryant (Neal) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Shellie Renee of Denver, Colorado; his bonus daughter Keeley Beauchamp of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Jamela McLain, Jalisa Rodgers, Jakori Bryant, Jaylun Bryant, Armond Beauchamp, Marquis McMillan, and Mathew McMillan; three great-grandchildren Javian, Irielle and Jenesis, his niece Riva Marie McLain, his nephew Martin Peeples and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas and Hortie Mae McLain, his sister Barbara Peeples, his brother Gerald Thomas McLain (Buck), and his nephew Darrell Mark McLain.
