Jeremiah Lee Smith-Bell
September 10, 2001- July 30, 2023
Have we met? Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jeremiah Lee Smith-Bell.
And I was born the day before historical events took place, such events that made the world stand still.
It was Monday, September 10, 2001, and the 253rd day of 2001. The high temperature that day was hot for September 75°.
While the world stood still or was in shambles, the life of my mother, Ms. Cheryl Bell, had just begun. I was her pride and joy, a gift God gave her. As a matter of fact, the meaning of my name Jeremiah means "the Lord exalts." Mom had me christened at New Beginnings Church.
I was born at Saint Josephs's Hospital in the Mile High City, Denver, Colorado. This will come full circle later in this story.
People who know me would share I have a robust personality and outgoing nature and that I'm a people person, and there's nothing I love more than my family. My fealty to my family is second to none. Spending time with my family brings me my greatest joy. Oh, of course, I like the play video games and listen to rap music. I even try rapping a time or two on my own, yet my most extraordinary satisfaction comes from spending time with my relatives. I have two siblings an older brother Darryl L. Smith Jr., and a younger sister Sidney Griffin.
I was educated in the Aurora Public Schools system. I attended Gateway High School when I was finished with school. However, I went to work in a warehouse at UPS as a utility worker. I would load and unload trucks operate the forklift conduct inventory, or any assignment given. It was an excellent education and a good way to make a living.
I enjoy sports. I played football and basketball; the Green Bay Packers is my favorite NFL team, while the Miami Heat is my favorite NBA team. I love collecting miniature sports cars building them from scratch putting them in my assortment. It's a passion that I cultivated from a young age. I'd attend car shows where there were all types of cars, and still, the sports cars were always my favorite.
Remember when I said that Saint Joseph Hospital would come full circle? Well, it was on July 30, 2023, the 211th day of 2023, at Saint Joseph, Hospital. I drew my last breath. Ironic, isn't it? The same place I drew my first breath was where I drew my last; we know God makes no mistakes, so this was ordained from the moment I was born.
Moreover, my life will live on in the hearts and memories of my mother, Cheryl Bell, my brother Darryl L. Smith Jr., and my sister Sidney Griffin. Plus, the host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends.
