February 13, 1933 ~ August 29, 2021

It's April 1982, and the Shiners have emerged on the Mile City Denver, Colorado. As with their tradition, there will be one of the largest parades ever.  Henry Ray Goodson Shiner is looking forward to riding his Harley Davison MotorCycle in the procession. He has taken off his job with the Federal Government as an Electrical Engineer to participate. The parade begins, and the Colorado Shiners group is featured to lead Henry, who is proud and upfront with that big Hog.

Monday, February 13, 1933, in Coker, Alabama, the temperature is 34.0 °F Roosevelt initiated a fire the night before to keep his family comfortable. Jamie Mae, his wife, is expecting their fourth child, and their three sons James, Maclester, and Felton, excited. The entire family question it will be the first daughter or another son? Whether a boy or girl, the family prayed for a healthy child. Growing up one of nine children in the Goodson household, Henry was always surrounded by an abundance of love. Shortly after making his grand appearance, Roosevelt and Jamie Mae Goodson's family grew with five more children, Louise, LeRoy, Barbara Sue, Tommie Lee, before finally becoming completes, with Robert Earl a few years later.

Henry received his educated in the small town of Coker with their one-room schoolhouse.

Education was tremendous in the Goodson home, and therefore, after graduation, Henry enlisted in the US Airforce. Henry learned the trade of Electrical Engineering, which would carry him through life.  Henry retired from the Airforce with honors.

Henry met and married his soulmate Roberta Lee; they settled and made their home in Denver, Colorado.  Henry continued his services to our country by using his skills as Electrical Engineer for the US government, where he again retired with honors.

Dedicated to services Henry became a Masons, and later joined other PHA. Together with Roberta Lee worked to make the lives of others better. Henry's work took him to where he was elected to receive the 33rd degree. Due to service in the community and for the fraternity. The highest honor bestowed made Henry a Commander of the Rite. Mountain and Plaines Consistory #33 honored Henry at their 9th annual Spring Banquet in 2013 with their Outstanding Accomplishment Honors. Henry and Roberta Lee served as one until her passing in January 2017.  Henry was a faithful member of Rocky Mountain Lodge #1, Eastern Stars chapter's Queen of South Chapter #11 and the Syrian Temple #49 for over fifty years. Member and Past Grand Patron Columbine Grand Chapter.

Henry liked to have fun; he was a Disc Jockey hired to entertain at parties and other festivities. He played down-home blues, jazz, or old school R&B.  Henry enjoyed eating, traveling bowling, watching football, and Antiques Roadshow.

Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 11:50 p.m., ten minutes before the new day, Henry crosses over to be with his beloved Roberta Lee. Also there to meet him was his mother and father, Jamie Mae and

Roosevelt Goodson. All his siblings; James William, Maclester, Felton, Louise, LeRoy, Barbara Sue, Tommie Lee, and Robert Earl.

One could never LOVE someone as much as they will miss them. The life Henry lived will echo through eternity in the lives of his nieces and nephews Lisa Gideons, Leon Allen, Tracy Allen, Nevonia Huff, Dion Standford, Darryl Goodson, Calvin Goodson, Felton Goodson Jr., Renee Colvin and a host of relatives and friends.
