Gregory Leontas Howard was born February 26,1951 to Charles and Effie Howard. He and his two siblings Charles Howard Jr and Ludell grew up surrounded by lots of love. He gained his public education through Denver Public School, graduating from George Washington High School. Later on, in his early adult life receiving an associate's degree in general education through the Community College of Denver.

Gregory felt the need to push for more, so he enlisted in the U.S. Army but was honorably discharged after being Severely injured serving his country. Gregory was a member of the Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church.
