Obituary

Gifford "Skeety "Giff" Allen Jones

A colossus measure of man ignites the day with his manifestation. Gifford (Giff)-(Skeety) Allen Jones's eyes were firmly fixed on his task ahead.  As Skeety's ventures through this day, he travels by foot to the bus stop to board and journey to work. Skeety is a pleasant man with a heart of gold, full of flattery, welling to do anything for anybody and not expecting something in return.

It was a Sunday, in Denver, Colorado, during the autumn month of November when Maude and Alfonzo were expecting the sixth child to the family. The awaited time had arrived when Maude and Alfonzo would venture to Denver's Mercy Hospital, where their son Gifford Allen Jones was born.  Ronald, Beverly, James, Gerald, and Lanetta couldn't wait to welcome their new baby brother home. Growing up in a large loving family has its advantages; one is never alone and is taught to love, this was profusely obvious as younger brothers and sisters were born.

Skeety, becomes a big and older brother. Hollies, (Holly), Richard, (Richie), Sherry, and Terry were hailed ecstasy.  Having a lot of brother's and sisters it's natural to be closer to one; this is true in Skeety and Richie's case. Growing up, the two of them we inseparable, like a hand to a glove; they were best friends. They were so dear to each other that Skeety sum came the day after his beloved Richie.

Skeety received his primary education in Denver public schools.  Attending Crofton Elementary, Cole Junior High, and Manual High School. Skeety wasn't one to sit idly by. He supplemented his education at Aims College in Greely, Colorado, where he receives his Bachelor's Degree in Business. Skeety took his schooling and skills to Canoga Park, California. He worked and lived there for almost twenty years. He was returning to Denver briefly to enjoy his family and to unwind. Skeety relished in dancing and would frequent his favorite nightspots, i.e., Mr. A's, Pierre's Supper Club, the Jet Set, to name a few. He could dance all-night to the Temptations, Smokey Robinson, and good oh R&B, which stirred his soul and motivated his legs.

Skeety moved to Houston, Texas, where he was employed with Bison Material Company (BMC) for over twenty years.

Yet, while in Houston, Skeety's heart was seized, and his soul was bind by the love of his life and his life partner Ms. Krisandra. Together they created memories. The family affectionately referred to Gifford as Skeety; however, once he and Krisandra connected, he became her Giff, and she his Krisann.  Giff was family-oriented, becoming a bonus father to Krisann's daughter Tequia and grandfather to Vanencia.

Giff was good with his hands and never slacked with his duties. He returned to Denver in 2018 to care for his ailing mother. A man of compassion, good-natured , kind , to whom he came in contact with. Not having biological children of his own can be said by how he cared for his nephews and nieces.

As the day of Thursday, October 1st 2020 concluded Gifford, "Skeety "Giff Allen Jones Drew his last breathe joining father Alfonzo Jones, and mother Maude Ella freeman, his brother Ronald , James , Gerald, Richard, and loving sister Lanetta. Those who have the mementos of his consist of life time partner Krisandra Hamilton, his bonus daughter Tequia and granddaughter to Vanencia. His sister Beverly (William) Green, Holly Young, Sherry (Leo) Moss, Terry (Jerome) Mosby, Edna Woods , Paula (Robert) Bell, Alfred J Freeman, Cherri (James) Bell and Donna (James) Coburn and sister in law Dinah Graham. Plus of host of nephews, nieces, and other family and friends.
