Obituary

Frederico "Rico" Romero was born on April 15, 1958, in Denver, Colorado, to Domingo and Ernestine Romero. Rico was the fifth of six children in the Romero family. He was known for his strong spirit and inquisitive mind, excelling academically and graduating from Manuel High School. Gifted with his hands and a natural talent for connecting with others, he built a career as a skilled carpenter and later as a personable and trusted car salesman.

Family was the center of Rico's world. For 46 years, he stood faithfully by the side of his beloved wife, Lottie. Together, they raised four daughters, and Rico took immense pride in being a guiding light in the lives of his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His devotion to his family was steady and unconditional, a quiet but powerful force of love and support. He was a committed husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a treasured friend to many.

Rico had a way of lighting up every room he entered. Funny, friendly, and full of charm, everyone who met him instantly liked him. He had a gift for making people feel welcomed and valued. He was the life of the party and an excellent dancer, always ready to bring joy and laughter wherever he went.

He loved his animals, especially his beloved dog, Moomoo, who was never far from his side. But nothing brought Rico more happiness than spending time with his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment he shared with them. Whether it was joking around, teaching them life lessons, or simply being present, he poured his whole heart into those relationships.

After a brave and unwavering battle with illness, Frederico departed this life surrounded by the love he so freely gave to others. His strength, even in the most challenging moments, was a reflection of his character and the deep love he had for his family. Rico taught us all so much. How to laugh, how to love, how to dance, and how to truly live. His legacy is one of loyalty, compassion, joy, and resilience. He will be deeply missed, but the memories and lessons he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
