Danny Nordne
Green Jr
September 13, 1959 – February 17, 2026
In Loving Memory of Danny Nordne Green Jr. (Skipper)
Danny Nordne Green Jr. (Skipper), age 66, of Denver, Colorado, peacefully transitioned on February 17, 2026, in the city he proudly called home.
Born on September 13th in Denver, Danny was the beloved son of Danny Green Sr. and Sandra Green. A true Denver native, he grew up in the Park Hill community and graduated from George Washington High School in 1976. He continued his education at the University of Northern Colorado before honorably serving his country in the United States Navy.
Danny was widely known and respected as a dedicated youth football coach for the Park Hill Pirates. He took great pride in mentoring young athletes, including future NBA champion Chauncey Billups of the Detroit Pistons and his brother Rodney Billups during their early playing days. Coaching was more than a pastime for Danny—it was a calling. He poured wisdom, discipline, and encouragement into every child he mentored, leaving a lasting impact both on and off the field.
Beyond football, Danny had a deep love for music. He was a DJ for KDKO and spent countless hours enjoying jazz and old-school classics that fed his soul. A devoted sports enthusiast, Danny proudly cheered for the San Francisco 49ers and was an avid supporter of Florida State Seminoles football, especially as he celebrated the accomplishments of his nephew, Rian Cason, who played for the team.
Danny was a fiery spirit—strong-willed, passionate, and unafraid to stand firm in his beliefs. Yet beneath that fire was a deeply loving, caring, and devoted family man. When it came to his children and grandchildren, his heart was immeasurable. He was protective, proud, and endlessly supportive, always making sure his family knew they were loved.
A man of faith and conviction, Danny devoted much of his life to studying scripture and the history of the Israelites and Hebrew beliefs. He found himself to be a Black Hebrew Israelite and found purpose and inspiration in the Word and shared it freely, often quoting and posting scripture on social media. His messages of faith, reflection, and encouragement touched many lives and strengthened countless spirits.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Danny Green Sr. and Sandra Green, and his cherished sister, Denice Cason. Danny leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children: Ashley, Armand, Dia, and Chiyna Green; his treasured grandchildren: Makaiyah, Michael, Elliott, Malaya, Jour’Dyn, and Ermias; his brothers, Robert and Bryan Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever carry his legacy in their hearts.
Danny’s life was one of passion, purpose, and profound love. His voice, his laughter, his wisdom, and his unwavering devotion to family will be deeply missed—but his spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.
