Danette L.
Underwood
February 14, 1962 – June 19, 2022
Danette Lynne (Polson) Underwood passed away peacefully at the age of 60 on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO.
Danette was born February 14, 1962 to Joe and Joan (Silva) Polson i n Renton, WA. During her early motherhood days, she shared many great memories with her sisters raising their children and going on adventures together. She then spent 26 years working for North Park Transportation where she developed many lifelong relationships with her co-workers. Her hard work ethic and dedication never went unnoticed and was a value she instilled deeply into her children.
Danette loved puzzles, word games, shopping, seafood, and rarely passed up a road trip to Black Hawk! Above all, Danette's greatest love was her family. She was a proud mother, passionate grandmother, caring daughter, loving sister, kind aunt, and a grateful friend. Though Danette was quiet-natured, she was a remarkable storyteller. She particularly found joy in sharing stories about her children's accomplishments and photos of her beloved grandchildren. Becoming a mother and grandmother were two of her greatest fulfillments; her wise, sweet-natured and charismatic personality will forever be cherished and admired.
Through Danette, we understand what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. She did not lose her battle because she stopped fighting. She continued to stay determined, stay positive, and enjoy her greatest achievements.
Danette is survived by her two children, Jason (Amy) Underwood of Highlands Ranch, CO; Alicia Underwood of Arvada, CO; and three grandchildren, Nolan, Harper and Sloane. She is also survived by her parents Joe and Joan Polson of Lakewood, CO; three sisters, Debra Taylor, Deanna (Loren) Rusch and Delena (Francis) Jackson; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and
cousins.
"Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear."
