Obituary

Christopher Jason Slade

April 25, 1983 ~ September 27, 2023

Chris was born on April 25, 1983, at Providence Holy Cross in Mission Hills, California.  He was raised in a Christian home and carried those values throughout his life. He was baptized on March 21, 2009, and used those teachings as a blueprint to guide him as he navigated through the challenges of life.

He attended Gridley Elementary, Olive Vista Junior High, and Sylmar High Schools in San Fernando Valley.  Chris joined the United States Air Force after graduating and served honorably. He later attended Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), which ignited his career as Master Electrician.

While he enjoyed playing basketball and hanging out with friends, his creative juices kept him in front of the computer, mixing music, writing lyrics, and making beats.

In 2014, he met Gabriela (Gaby) Alfaro, and their union was blessed with two beautiful children. Leaving the beaches of Southern California, his absolute favorite place to be, Chris sought new challenges in Denver, Colorado, allowing him to achieve his dream of becoming a "good dad" and walk into the greatness he knew he could become.

As a visionary and entrepreneur, Chris started his company, SladeEnergy in 2018. He worked tirelessly with a spirit of excellence, passion, and purpose. His clothing gear, SladeEnergyRocks, bearing his signature logo and inspiring words, was the second venture of his many achievements.

Chris lived his life with intent and was determined to leave a legacy.  His philosophies were, "Let's get it done," "You can do it," "Let's get it," and "Be your own energy."   These words were the driving forces he used to impact others everywhere.

On September 27, 2023, Chris took his last breath on earth. His infectious spirit will live on forever, and his inspiring words will reverberate in the lives of those he touched.

As we reflect on a life of love, courage, and inspiration, Chris leaves behind to cherish his memory,

his two precious children Lylah and Eli Slade, his devoted lifetime Partner, Gabriela Alfaro, his beloved mother, Barbara Lyons Slade, his dear father and stepmother, Melvin and Veronica Slade, brothers Jacques Slade and Curtis Johnson, his caring grandmother, Estella Lyons, his favorite aunties, Janice, and Susan Lyons, plus a host of other relatives and friends.
