Sunday, morning and there's an excitement in the air. This wasn't a regular Sunday; in fact, this day was unforgettable. Carrie had got herself ready for a showdown like none other. Her favorite sports team was about to play in the biggest game of the year. The Denver Broncos were facing off against the Carolina Panthers. The year 2016, the day of February 7.
Everyone knew that when the Broncos plays, don't talk to Carrie, the game had her full attention.
Once the game concluded, Carrie was full of joy; the Broncos won 24 to 10. This was an early birthday gift for Carrie Juanita Oliver.
Morning has risen on this Saturday. The 16th day of February would be different from so many others for, on this day, a new ray of sunshine, a morning star will arrive.
Robert was anxious, and Rose knew the time was drawing near for the premier of their new addition. At last, the moment Robert Williams Rose Lee Crumitie was waiting for their baby girl's arrival on this Florida winter's day of February 16, 1935.
They name their baby girl Carrie Juanita. Carrie grew-up in Monticello, Florida, where she received her elementary education until 1948 around the age of thirteen. At this crossroads, Rose and Carrie moved to Colorado. Spending a short time in Evergreen than moving to Northeast Denver, where Carrie attended junior and high school graduating from Manuel.
While in school, Carrie met and fell in love with LeRoy J. Oliver Jr. They married and together produced four beautiful children; Karen, Kim, Le Roy, J III, and Kelli.
Carrie retired from the City of Denver Department of Social Services. On one occasion of Carrie's retirement, this allowed her to spend time with her passions. As mentioned before, Carrie loved the Broncos. She also loved her seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grands, and two great-great grands. Reading, oh, did Carrie love to read give Carrie a book and look out.
Carrie was a loving soul and believed in Lord Jesus Christ Carrie was a Macedonia Baptist Church member, where she sang in the adult choir.
The time comes when we all must lay down our books and stop cheering for the Broncos. That time for Carrie set on Sunday, August 23, 2020.
Yet, Carries' legacy of love will carry on through her children and their families' lives.
Carrie's parents' father, Robert Williams, and mother Rose Lee Crumitie, both preceded her in death and her daughter Karen R. Olive. Moreover, her daughter's Kim Williams and Kelli R. Oliver-Cortez(Joe), her son Le Roy J. Oliver III. Seven Grandchildren; Shalik (Stephanie) Williams, Tamika Williams, Stephanie Marshall, Michael Harvey, Darla Marshall, Lisa Marshall, and Karrie Oliver. Fifteen Great-grands, and two Great-great-grands.
