Remember When

It's Friday night; the workweek is done. It is time for Andy to relax and have some fun. As usual, the neighborhood and friends are all gathering at Moreno's home, where Andy has an open garage; many pals come by. They bring Coors Light and party favorites. You can say that they are living for the weekend. The tape deck is playing old-school music. Everyone is randy for a good time working on cars and enjoying themselves.

Andrew Chris Moreno was a simple, uncomplicated man who enjoyed family and life itself. Whose favorite so was "Remember When" by Alan Jackson.

Born in the winter of 1952 in Denver, Colorado. Andrew, warmly known as "Andy," was the fourth of five children born to Phillip and Nettie Moreno. The Moreno's were loving and doting parents over all five of their children, Dolores, Louis, Phillip, Andy, and Robert.

Growing up on the east side of Denver off 23rd and Lawrence. Andy's surroundings allowed him the pleasure of being influenced and educated by many situations he faced.

The Moreno families were devout Christians and Catholics attending Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Andy was educated in Denver Public Schools, and he attended Gilpin Elementary, Cole Junior High, Manual High school. He finished his primary education at Lookout Mountain Youth Services School in Golden, Colorado.

While in school, Andy met his soulmate Patricia "Patty," who was two years older than Andy; however, their love was not denied. Although Patty's father disapproved of Andy initially. A few years later, he did consent to them being married on January 22, 1968, a marriage that lasted for 54 years. "Remember when I was young, and so were you, and time stood still, and love was all we knew." "Remember When"

To Andy and Patty's union, three beautiful children were born Anna, Tony, a Desirea Andy's life revolved around his family. "Remember when the sound of little feet was the music we danced to week to week."

Knowing a man is to provide for his family. Andy worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for ten years before receiving his dream job with the City and County of Denver, Fleet Maintenance Department, where Andy retired after 29 years.

Andy was assigned to the Denver Parks Department as their primary mechanic, stationed at their Huron shop. Andy occasionally went into the field repairs equipment. While in this position, he made great friends; some Andy stayed in touch with even after his retirement, leaving a true legacy in both departments. Upon retiring, Andy continued working on automobiles. Yet, as he grew older, he was content to watch The Price Is Right, old westerns, and spend time with his grandchildren.

"Remember when old ones died and new were born."

Andrew Chris "Andy" Moreno lifted us to "Remember When" as he departed this life on March 16, 2022. As he got to the other side, there was an open garage full of cars for him to work on.

Andy is now Cruisin' with a "Diamond in the back, sunroof top, diggin' the scene with a gangsta lean; gangsta whitewalls, TV antennas in the back wooh."

He was met Nettie, his mother, his father Phillip, and a brother Phillip and sister Louise and Phillip.

"We can never LOVE someone as much as we miss them."

Andy's light will burn perpetually in the lives of Patricia "Patty" Moreno, his wife. His son Anthony "Tony" Moreno, daughters Anna Moreno and Desirea Moreno.

Sister Delores Flores and brother Robert Moreno.

Andy, "We won't be sad, we'll be glad. For all the life we've had, and we'll Remember When."
